Our active air sampling service tests the microbiological content of the air. This process involves placing a petri dish with appropriate agar onto the collection clips of an air sampler. A predetermined volume of air, typically 500 cubic meters, is then passed over the plate, collecting bacteria, mould, and fungal spores onto the agar. The plate is then returned to our laboratory for incubation and identification. We frequently conduct testing in laboratories and holding rooms to identify possible contaminants before and after deep cleaning procedures.
Routine checks are also performed to ensure these environments’ ongoing cleanliness and safety.

LAA’s are a serious concern for those working with animals. Over time, staff can become sensitised and may exhibit symptoms, become ill and unable to continue in their roles. If you use VHP or autoclaves in your facility, biological indicators are the gold standard in sterilisation confirmation. We use Geobacillus thermophilus impregnated discs supplied to you for sterilisation confirmation. Discs are incubated for 24 hr (rapid) or 5 days (full confirmation). We give you a validation success report, giving you confidence your sterilisation methods were successful and safe for use.

UV at around 265 nm can be an effective means of disinfecting surfaces that is chemical free and leaves no residues.
We do a pre and post UV exposure count of bacteria on a surface, using typical foodborne pathogens such as E. coli, Salmonella, or Listeria or Bacillus atrophaeus. We then show how many log10 reductions were achieved. This can be very useful for customers in risk assessments such as HACCP analysis (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
